Al Masjid an Nabawi Al Madinah is the holy site of Prophet Muhammad's final resting place in Medina, Saudi Arabia. It is not only one of the holiest places of pilgrimage for Muslims around the world, but it also holds great historical and religious significance for many. Built by the Islamic prophet himself in 622 A.D., this mosque is believed to be the second-holiest shrine in Islam. Every year millions of pilgrims, both local and international, make the journey to visit this sacred site.
Al Masjid an Nabawi Al Madinah is a grand building that stands out with its four towering minarets, white marble domes and gateways guarded by double doors. The inner courtyard is adorned with marble flooring and surrounded by a colonnade consisting of nearly five hundred pillars which were added during Ottoman rule. Inside, visitors will find beautiful wooden minbar (pulpit) where Prophet Muhammad preached sermons and Quranic verses on walls surrounding it. This mosque was also the first place that was used for offering group prayers during Islamic rule.
